This year was Jack's first time playing on an organized soccer team. He has played at school with friends for years but we just kept missing the sign ups for an actual team.Finally we made it this year! He loved playing!

Jack made some good friends on his team this year. He's hoping he'll have some on his next team. It was nice this year because I was worried that since he's 9 he'd be on a team with kids who had played for years and he'd feel left out but that wasn't the case. Not that his team was horrible, although they did only win one game, but it was a nice mix of kids who had played for a few years and kids who were just starting. Jack fit right in and the boys really had fun playing together. This was the first year of coaching for his coach and I did the Team Mom thing which was a first for me. I think it turned out okay but I would do things a little different if I did it again.

Before the season started we did talk to Jack about not playing Sunday games. We like this league because all the games are on Saturday but we knew playoff games could be on Sundays. At the end of the season Jack's coach mentioned a "Best and Worst" playoff game that would be on Sunday and Jack immediately said he couldn't be there. I was proud of him because I know how much he loves to play. When I told Jack I was proud of him he said "Well it's Sunday" as if it wasn't even a question. I hope he stays that way. I know a lot of people don't understand why we do the "keep the Sabbath Day holy" thing but I'm glad Jack didn't mind that he was one of the only boys who cared about that.
Anyway, it was a fun season with a fun team. Yea Jackson!
